Parish of San Michele Arcangelo, Sant’Angelo del Pesco, August 8, 2025
The parish community of Sant’Angelo del Pesco is pleased to announce an event of great significance for both the faithful and the entire town. After meticulous restoration work carried out in specialized laboratories in Campobasso and Rome, the treasured painting of Our Lady Madonna del Carmelo, which left our church on April 4th, will return to be admired and venerated once again. To mark this extraordinary occasion, in addition to the traditional celebrations on August 15th and 16th, the Parish has scheduled two additional days of festivities and prayer.

August 9, 2025
At 6:00 p.m., a procession will set off from Piazza dei Caduti toward the square in front of the Church of Madonna del Carmelo. At 6:30 p.m., the solemn unveiling of the painting will take place, accompanied by the joyful ringing of bells and the firing of ceremonial mortars. The procession will then accompany the painting to the Church of San Michele Arcangelo where—after a brief moment of prayer—the faithful will have the opportunity to approach the sacred image and admire the results of its restoration up close. The day will be enlivened by music from the Pizzoferrato Town Band and will conclude with a fireworks display.

At 7:00 p.m., His Excellency Monsignor Camillo Cibotti, Bishop of Trivento, will preside over the solemn blessing of the painting of Our Lady Madonna del Carmine and the Investiture with the Scapular of Our Lady —a devotional garment symbolizing dedication to the Virgin Mary and the spiritual protection she offers—open to all the faithful.
August 15–16, 2025
As per tradition, the festivities will continue under the care and organization of the Comitato Feste (Festival Committee), with the customary religious and civic events: on August 15th in honor of Our Lady Madonna del Carmelo, and on August 16th in honor of San Rocco.
The parish administration warmly invites the entire community and all devotees, both near and far, to take part in these days of celebration and prayer, sharing together the joy of the return of our beloved Our Lady Madonna del Carmelo.
